For the fabric audition, I did have several bundles of Panache that I could have broken out so that my quilt will look just like the cover, but I decided to make mine a teensy bit more unique. I found a gorgeous bundle of rainbow brights called Geogram by Samarra Khaja from my stash, and I'm still pairing it with a black/white stripe from the Panache collection.
I'm excited and scared at the same time. Will I succeed and up my piecing game with this quilt, or fail miserably with badly matched seams and stretched-out blocks? I don't know, but I'll find out!
Rebecca is such a lovely designer and teacher that I'm sure you are going to love how your version comes together. Using her black and white Panache prints will really keep the detail of some of the design alive, too.
ReplyDeleteYour fabric selection is gorgeous and good for you for using a bundle from your horde, I mean stash. I know your sewing is going to be perfect and if the seams don't match, I'm sure your beautiful quilting will compensate for it. May the force be with you! I can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear about your experience and see the quilt. Those fabrics are really fun. I have no doubt you will make something fantastic. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI think you will do just fine. Take it at the pace you need and you will succeed.
ReplyDeleteFun fabrics! Fun quilt! Very handy that it's fat quarter friendly. You can do it, Liz!
ReplyDeleteYour fabric selection will be great. I have learnt a lot from quilt a longs, and you know, if my lumps and bumps and points are a bit skew whiff here and there, nobody will ever know
